Last Wednesday I took the boys with me to go shopping. Our first stop was Costco. Our second shop was Mervyn's (right across the parking lot from Costco).
While trying to get the boys in the car to go to the next building, I was struggling with Austin to get him to sit still so I could buckle him up.
Me: Austin, you need to sit still so I can buckle you.
Austin: NO! I don't want to be buckled.
Me: Be a good boy and sit still. I need to buckle you.
Austin: NO! I'm a big boy.
Me: Yes, you are a big boy, but you need to be buckled, IT'S THE LAW!
Austin: NO MOM, YOU'RE THE LAW!
I died laughing! And I won the battle! :o)

Bad Guy
Austin came running in the kitchen the other day while Robert and I were making lunch.
Austin: I'm a bad guy!
Me: No, you're a good boy!
Austin: NO! I'm a bad guy (waving the stick he held in his hand).
Me: You're too cute to be a bad guy! You're my good boy!
Austin: But this is my sword.
Me: Oh! Well maybe you can be a good pirate! They have swords.
Austin: (Obviously frustrated and put-out by this point...in the highest, sweetest, softest voice) Please can I be a bad guy?
How can you argue with that! I just made sure he didn't hit Jack with the "sword". What a sweet little guy!
