What's Your Opinion

What do you think? Do you like the layout? Or should I go back to what we originally had? I just wanted to play around with the colors! :o)

Jack's Drama

Well...we were no where near the end of the drama for the month! Next came Jack!
We took the boys to the Mall on the 13th to shop for daddy's birthday presents. The boys had been strapped down in the double stroller for hours and were getting restless. We let the boys out in Payless to try on shoes and run around a bit. When we were done, we went to the counter to pay. I was busy paying and Robert was rounding up the boys. He put Jack in the stroller and got a call on his cell. Needless to say, neither of us were paying attention when Jack had stood up in the stroller and then fell out flat on his back. Poor boy! We checked him for bumps and bruises, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary, in fact, his temperament went back to normal pretty quickly. It took about another hour of shopping before we noticed that Jack had a nose bleed. Then we freaked out. It was not a good sign that he hit the back of his head and had a nose bleed, so we took him straight to the ER. Well, we were there for about 3 hrs, sat in the hall, got an x-ray and found out that he had no fracture. He was fine. We weren't at all surprised, even though it was midnight, Jack was wide awake and trying to climb on everything and flirt with everyone! He was our same Jack-Jack! We knew the difference from when Austin had fractured his skull when he was 12 months old. Our poor children.
On the 17th of this month, our niece Lindsey turned 5! We got to go see her at her house and have cake with her! Then we got to go to Robert's parent's house for a birthday dinner for Robert! It was quite a fun day, but then more drama! As we were leaving the house, Jack was walking on the sidewalk and turned to run back to the house and fell. I noticed right away that his cry meant business. We took him back into the house to check him out in the light. The first thing we saw was his first finger on his right hand had been dislocated. It was popped right out of joint. It looked like he had also bit his tongue and had a bit of a fat lip. Robert, Hyrum and Lane gave Jack a blessing right away. By this time, however, Jack was fast asleep. When the blessing was done, I felt like I should wake him up. Nothing. He was completely unresponsive. I lifted his eyelids and his pupils were enough to send Robert into shock. His pupils were as small as pin-points. I have never seen such a thing. Robert was afraid that Jack was unconscious and could slip into a coma, so he whipped out his phone and called 911. An officer was the first to arrive and attempted to wake Jack by doing a sternum rub on him. Nothing. The EMT's were not too far behind and checked his vitals. They were completely normal. Jack never stopped breathing or anything, he just wouldn't wake up. It took about another minute and them moving him, but he finally woke up and he was not happy. When all was said and done, Jack was fine. They didn't really have a good explanation as to why he went like that. Maybe he was just so bloody tired and the pain was enough to shut him down and put him in a deep sleep.
Well, the next morning I noticed his knee was banged up good. He was walking on it, but I could tell it bothered him. The doctor wondered if Jack had broken his fibia in his left leg and had it x-rayed. Nothing. No break, thank goodness. His leg had just gotten twisted when he fell and was bruised. It wasn't long before Jack was running around again.
Momma finally had enough. Her body gave up and she got sick! Sadly, I passed it to Jack, so we both get to lay around and cuddle! I'm just SO GRATEFUL that my boys are still healthy and happy and have all their fingers and toes! They have a dozen angles each watching over them, I'm sure!

Austin's Burn

What a month February has been! One we will be glad that is past us soon! We started the month with a bit of sickness in our home and it has seemed to linger in one way or another. I hope we will be done with it soon.
I suppose the best day was the 1st. Robert and I got to go see the Peking Acrobats at Kingsbury Hall in SLC. Wow! That was neat! I was amazed by their performance, they are truly a work of art! I hope that we will get to see them again someday with our kids!
Robert and I have both been busy studying for tests and midterms in basically all of our classes. He is taking 11 credits at the college and I am taking 17. Crazy, I know...but really it hasn't been too bad. I have missed a few classes due to being sick though.
The drama over the last few weeks has come with our children. First there was Austin's burn. It happened on the 5th. Austin ran into the living room and tripped and fell against the glass cover on our fireplace. The fire had been on so the glass was extremely hot. We have lived here for almost two years and we have never had an accident with the fireplace. Unless you want to count the laundry basket which met it's doom against the hot glass. But as far as our kids went, nadda. I was pretty upset about the burn, it was nasty. I soaked him in whole milk to take away the heat and put a pain relief antiseptic cream on the burns. The next day when I took the bandages off, his arm was bleeding and it freaked me out. I took him to see his pediatrician and the doctor was actually quite pleased at how it was healing. When the nurse came in to re-bandage his arm, Austin was pretty upset. He did not want anyone to touch his arm. I had to hold him still and the nurse was holding his sore arm trying to put more medicine on it. Austin was pretty much hysterical by then, he was screaming "NO!" And then he bent down and bit the nurse. She was OK, just shocked! We got his arm bandaged and it has been healing well ever since! I think the arm will scar a little, but the face and shoulder should leave no scar.

Heeeeeere's Austin

It has been quite a month. I don't even know where to start!
Well...since our camera is no longer with us, I have uploaded a few mobile pictures! These ones take the least amount of explaining and since it is 3:00 a.m. and I'm finally getting tired, we'll start with these!

Austin keeps me laughing! He figures these things out himself! It's rarely a dull moment with our first born!

Austin enjoys playing in the bathroom and dressing up like a pirate, only he forgot the rest of his costume this time! He didn't have a belt for his sword, so he stuck it down his diaper!
